Frequently asked questions
Is there any paperwork I need to fill out prior to an evaluation?
Yes. Once an evaluation has been scheduled, our office will provide you with a link to a series of documents that needs to be completed prior to your child’s evaluation. We request that all paperwork be completed in full and returned to us three days prior to your first appointment. If there is a delay in filling out the paperwork, your appointment may have to be rescheduled to a more convenient time.
Do you accept any insurance or take Medicaid?
While we primarily operate as a self-pay clinic, we understand that some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits for therapeutic services. We will continue to invoice you as a self-pay client.
If, however, you would like us to check your out-of-network benefits with your insurance provider please let us know. While clients are responsible for the full therapy rate, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement or coverage for a portion of these costs through your out-of-network benefits. Any reimbursement or coverage received from their insurance provider will be credited to the client. Clients are responsible for any difference between the therapy rate and the benefit amount received.
You may request an invoice or receipt from the clinic to submit to their insurance provider for potential reimbursement of out-of-network benefits. Reimbursement policies vary by insurance plan, and clients should consult their provider for specific details.
Our clinic staff is available to assist clients in understanding their payment responsibilities and checking out-of-network benefits. We aim to provide transparent information to help clients make informed decisions about their therapy services at Connections Pediatric Therapies, LLC.

Do you involve parents in the treatment process?
Yes. Parents are a very important part of treatment at Connections Pediatric Therapies and are invited into the treatment rooms to observe therapy. Parent education is an integral part of every therapy session. If sessions are provided at the child’s school or daycare, we will reach out to the parent via text/voice memo with a recap of the sessions at least one time per month. Parents are always welcome to inquire about session activities and progress.
Sessions are designed to allow time for the parent and therapist to discuss progress and what was done during the therapy session. Home programs are provided to the parent to increase carryover in all settings and help the child be more successful in reaching their goals.
Do I need a referral to receive therapy?
No. A doctor's referral is not necessary for a speech and language assessment or treatment.
How long will my child require therapy?
Every child is unique and the length of therapy depends on the child's diagnosis, age, progress in therapy and treatment plan.
How long are sessions?
Evaluation sessions are typically 1-2 hours in length. This allows for the necessary testing to be completed, as well as consultation with parents to review the assessment findings and recommendations.
Therapy sessions are 30, 45 or 60 minutes in length. This includes work with the child, as well as consultation with parents to discuss progress, strategies and home programming. It is strongly encouraged that parents are involved in the therapy so they may continue the therapy goals at home and incorporate them into their child’s daily routine. Courtney will make a recommendation based on each child individually.
